Please be invited to take part in the

International Explorer Summer Camp 2027 “Freundschaft2” in Germany

Dates: Saturday, July 31st – Saturday, August 7th
Location: St.Luger, Gilwell, Haltern am See, GERMANY
Costs: Still early stage, but we are planning to stay below £800 per participant.

2027 is the 10th anniversary of the Freundschaft (friendship) camp, the campsite still known amongst some as having the best showers of a scoutsite ever. For that occasion we like to return to the same spot and offer a similar program as back in 2017.

Planned Program:
Hike, High Ropes Course, Water Activity Day, Visit to Haltern am See and its swimming lake, Fun Park (Movie Park Bottrop), Exhibition Gasometer Oberhausen, spare time, onsite activities, DESC Cup, campfire and more.

Please understand that each participant must be an active member of an explorer unit and 14 to 17 years old on 31July2027 (or before, see network clause below). We will take up to 100 participants.

Sign up start is Sunday, November 23rd at 10am, deadline is Sunday December 7th.

We take the first 100 scouts, who signed up and paid the £100 deposit (details in the sign-up form).
Everyone thereafter goes on the waiting list

Waiting List Clause
Once the sign up is closed, we will confirm if you got a place or will be put on the waiting list). If you are on the waiting list and not offered a place for the camp, the deposit will be refunded back to you after the camp took place.

Network Clause
If you are currently active in one of the participating explorer units, turn 18 before the camp, but are not yet 19 or older on 31July2027, you can still sign up as Network. We might offer Network to come as camp inside the camp.
This is discretionary by the leaders and also depending on the total number of signed up participants. If you signed up as over18/Network, but it turns out that we cannot offer a Network camp for whatever reason during our planning, you will get all your payments back.

World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) Clause
From 30th July to 8th August 2027 is the WSJ in Poland. Sign up for Poland will start soon as well, but there is only a small number of places and there is no guarantee that interested scouts get a place.
Feel free to sign up to Freundschaft2 now. In case you also sign up for the WSJ, get a place offered and you take their place, we will let you off for Freundschaft2 and refund you all your Freundschaft2 payments.

Leader Clause
As we are going abroad with a bigger number of participants, the leader team might deem as essential that only participants can be taken, when there is also a leader from their unit taking part as well, as only they know the young people well enough. We are trying to avoid that such situation occurs, but if so, it remains a discretionary decision of the leader team to take “leaderless” explorers or not. If we would have to take such decision, a full refund of all money paid will be given.
